Practice
Works are developed through drawing, revision and overpainting, often over an extended period.
Katija Kovačić is a painter and conservator-restorer based in Dubrovnik. Her studio practice includes painting, drawing, print, painted editions and sculpture. Her work in conservation-restoration has given her a close understanding of materials, ageing and repair.
Her work often brings together figures, interiors and altered images. Pieces are developed through drawing, revision and overpainting.
Katija is listed in the Dubrovnik department of the Croatian Conservation Institute. Dubrovnik Museums credits her with conservation work for the 2024–2025 exhibition “A Look Through the Portrait of Marija Ghetaldi-Gondola”. Her work has also appeared in Galerija Flora’s “Tri za deset” sales exhibition.
